Four New COVID-19 Caused Deaths Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) is announcing four new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 59 additional cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 6,912 in Camden County and 343 total fatalities.

The following information is currently available regarding these most recent deaths in Camden County:

New Case 4:   FEMALE,   80s,   Somerdale  

 

“We are saddened to announce four additional deaths caused by coronavirus in Camden County today. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Today, the governor officially announced that restaurants will be allowed to resume outdoor dining later this month, with certain social distancing measures in place. Thanks to the actions of our residents and the leaders in our communities, we are on a real path to meaningful recovery. As we always caution, this progress is fragile, and we all must continue to do our part to stop the spread of coronavirus. Please continue to wear a mask in public, stay home if you are sick, and follow the guidance of public health experts.”

The Department of Health is announcing 59 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,177 confirmed resident cases and 439 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 6,912 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 249 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 343 total fatalities countywide.
