Lecture Series: Turmoil in the Middle East

Syria’s Civil War and the Political Dynamics of Refugee Return

As Syria’s Civil War enters its tenth year, claims that the war is “ending” are increasingly becoming commonplace. Political scientist Lama Mourad will provide a broad overview of the current state of the Syrian Civil War, including the role of external powers such as the United States, Russia, Iran, Turkey and others in the conflict — with a special focus on the question of refugee return.

Location: Camden County College, Blackwood Campus, Civic Hall, Connector 105

The Center at Camden County College focuses on the needs and interests of educators and the community at large. Its goal is to create an informed citizenry through exploration of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and issues critical to a democratic society. Citizens have the opportunity to meet scholars, scientists, government officials and business leaders to explore historical and current issues and discuss societal problems and their solutions.
