Join us for this 6-week series of documentaries and moderated conversation designed to encourage informed discussion of immigration issues against the backdrop of our immigration history. All programs begin at 2:30 p.m.

Becoming American is a project of City Lore in collaboration with the Immigration and Ethnic History Society and the International Coalition of the Sites of Conscience.  The project has been made possible by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities: Exploring the Human Endeavor.

The project provides participating organizations with DVDs of carefully selected, compelling documentary films; discussion guidelines; original essays by eminent immigration scholars; extensive resource guides; and web support including training in how to organize, promote and implement the series successfully.

The Nilsa Cruz-Perez Downtown Branch of the Camden County Library is located on the Rutgers-Camden Campus, 301 N. 5th Street. Parking is free in all Rutgers lots on weekends, no Rutgers tag required.
