Jennifer Hoheisel, professor of Philosophy at Camden County College, has been a teacher for the past 26 years.  She is the parent of a young man with autism who has been in inclusion, self-contained, private, public and home based classes.  She, along with her son Will, provide this lecture as an overview of the symptoms and behavior commonly exhibited by individuals with Autism Spectrum  Disorder. Emphasis will be on understanding the strengths and challenges for these students and on equipping teachers with curricula and strategies to meet some of the educational needs of these individuals.  This will be a very general session that both introduces Autism and provides a few “take home” strategies.
