1968: The Year that Changed America

Join The Center at Camden County College for the lecture series “1968: The Year that Changed America” on Wednesdays at 7 PM in Civic Hall. 

This week’s topic is “The End of Consensus: 1968 Presidential Election and Transformation of American Politics” led by Robert Chiles from the University of Maryland. Chiles will explore the key dynamics of the tumultuous 1968 presidential election, as well as the important legacies of that contest. He will demonstrate the lasting influences it exerted on public attitudes toward politics, politicians, and political parties, with attention to the key controversies of the Vietnam War, Civil Rights, generation gap, and rising tide of violence.
