1968: The Year that Changed America
Event Navigation
Join The Center at Camden County College for the lecture series “1968: The Year that Changed America” on Wednesdays at 7 PM in Civic Hall.
This week’s topic is “The Joy of Protest: How the Counterculture Merged with the New Left” led by Arthur Eckstein and Judy Albert. The counterculture of the Sixties was originally not much interested in politics but in creating new, joyous, and free way of living. By contrast, the original New Left was stodgy and grimly Marxist. Eckstein and Albert will discuss the merging of the two protest movements and their impact on American society.
