Eleven New COVID-19 Caused Deaths Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) is announcing 11 new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 253 additional cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 18,026 in Camden County and 607 total fatalities.

“Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to everyone who has lost a friend, a family member, or a loved one to this disease,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “While no one person can decide the trajectory of this crisis on their own, our collective action can stem the tide and flatten the curve. Our daily average of new cases continues to climb, eclipsing 300 today for the first time. With the holidays on the horizon, remember to keep your gatherings as small as possible, wear a mask whenever you are around others, and maintain social distance at all times. We can stop this second surge in our tracks if we work together.”                                                                    

The Department of Health is announcing 253 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,685 confirmed resident cases and 768 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 18,026 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 354 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well asthree staff deaths, out of our 607 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators

Residents should also download the COVID Alert NJ mobile application on their Apple or Android device where they can view the latest information regarding COVID-19 in the state and be notified of potential exposures to the virus.
