(Cherry Hill) Freeholder Deputy Director Ed McDonell and staff distributed supplies to participants in the Camp Sunny Side Online program. Camp Sunny Side is an annual day camp for individuals with disabilities, 13 years of age and older, provided by the Camden County Division of Programming for Individuals with disABILITIES and Special Needs. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s camp was cancelled, and participants will instead take part in Camp Sunny Side Online.

Camp Sunny Side Online is a virtual camp experience designed for individuals with disabilities and their families. The program allows participants to stay home while still enjoying fun camp activities such as arts and crafts, music, social skills, and virtual field trips. Participants will be receiving supplies to complete projects and activities from home such as art supplies and other supplemental materials.

“Our first and foremost concern is the safety of our camp participants and their families, but we can still find exciting new ways to enjoy our usual program activities from home,” McDonnell said. “Despite the current public health crisis, we remain committed to making sure these campers have a wonderful experience this summer.”
