(Lindenwold, NJ) – Beginning on Monday, July 15, Camden County will begin work at the intersection of Gibbsboro and Blackwood-Clementon roads in Clementon, a majorthoroughfare in the county that thousands of motorists travel every day. The project involves milling, paving, and improving stormwater infrastructure.
On Monday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 16, work hours will run from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a lane shift in place at the intersection. On Wednesday, July 17 and Thursday, July 18, work will continue from 8 p.m. to 6 p.m., there will be a full road closure of Gibbsboro Road between White Horse and Blackwood-Clementon roads and a lane shift on Blackwood-Clementon Road and on Friday, July 19, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., there will be a full road closure of Erial Road between Branch Avenue and Blackwood Clementon Road with lane shifts on Blackwood-Clementon Road.
“This intersection is heavily traveled and although this work may disrupt the flow of traffic for a bit the project will be a worthwhile investment for our community. This intersection is in desperate need of reconstruction, so my promise to the residents is that when work is finished the area will be unrecognizable from its current state,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “For the duration of the project, we recommend that motorists give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations and find alternate routes to avoid the area. If you are traveling through the area, remember to slowdown and watch for road work crew members and debris.”
The Camden County Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining over 1,200 miles of county roadway, 50 bridges and several dams. They are dedicated to making our area safer for motorists and pedestrians through county highway construction projects and road maintenance, including pothole repairs, street sweeping, grass cutting and storm drainage upkeep. The Public Works Department is located in Lindenwold where personnel are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to serve the residents of Camden County.
