(Lindenwold, NJ) – Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, has been informed by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) that the intersection of the White Horse Pike (Route30) and Evesham Road (CR 544) in Magnolia will be closed beginning Friday, Sept. 8 at 9 p.m. The intersection is expected to be closed until 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, for the installation of a manhole.
“Because the entire intersection will close, motorists are going to be detoured throughout the area to avoid the site, and that makes it important for commuters to plan their routes ahead of time,” Shin Angulo said. “Motorists should take advantage of the suggested detour routes, but pay extra attention to changing traffic patterns and sudden stops when traveling in the area.”
Signage will be posted throughout the area to notify drivers of the construction and to direct them along detour routes. Motorists traveling eastbound on the White Horse Pike will be directed along Warwick Road, East Atlantic Avenue, then Somerdale Road before getting back onto the White Horse Pike. Westbound traffic on the White Horse Pike will be directed along Somerdale Road, Burnt Mill Road, East Oak Avenue, and then Warwick Road.
Southbound traffic on Evesham Road will utilize a similar route in the opposite direction. Drivers will be directed onto Burnt Mill Road, Somerdale Road, and then Warwick Road before returning to Evesham Road. Northbound traffic will utilize Warwick Road, East Oak Avenue, then Burnt Mill Road before continuing onto Evesham Road.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information.
