Anna Marie Wright, the County’s Qualified Purchasing Agent has been chosen by Larc School to receive the “Paul Porado Humanitarian Award.”  She will be presented with the award during a cocktail reception starting at 5:30 pm at Larc School’s 31st annual Help the Kids Golf Tournament on June 3, 2022.  Larc School – which educates students with severe and profound disabilities – gives this honor to an individual who consistently champions the needs of individuals with disabilities.

The Paul Porado award was named for a cherished friend and Board Member of Larc School who passed away in 2004. The award honors his life and his dedication to those in need. It is given to one who consistently champions the needs of individuals with disabilities. Much like Paul Porado, Anna Marie Wright has made serving Larc not just a priority, but a calling. Not only does she give of her own time, but she helps to organize others to get more involved in the organization.

Anna Marie was selected for her many years of service coordinating volunteers for the Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge Event presented by AmeriHealth New Jersey. Anyone who has ever volunteered for the Run has witnessed first-hand her unique ability to coordinate and lead the volunteers who are needed to make each year’s event a success.  The event attracts 4,000 runners and walkers each year and helps to fund the services that Larc provides to help students with disabilities learn how to speak, walk, and perform other activities.

Coordinating enough volunteers to manage 4,000 participants is no easy job! Yet, Anna Marie embraces the job willingly and with alacrity and enthusiasm, giving countless hours of her own time each and every year. Her involvement in the event contributes to its success year after year.
