(Voorhees, NJ) – The Camden County Library System is currently looking for donations to the personal care pantries that are available at all branches across the county. The pantries offer discreet and barrier free access to a variety of free hygiene and personal care items to residents in need including socks, shampoo, soap, deodorant, and menstrual products.
The program began in 2020 and has expanded rapidly. In the last year, the care pantries have provided more than 14,000 items to residents including over 4,000 pairs of socks.
“The library has always been more than just a place to check out books, it is a pillar of our community,” said Commissioner Melinda Kane, liaison to the Camden County Library System. “This program has grown exponentially, and we are excited to now be accepting donations from our neighbors to keep this critical resource up and running.
