An Ozone Action Day has been declared for Thursday, July 15th. The ozone is forecast to reach the unhealthy for sensitive groups category for locations along the I-95 corridor and portions of central New Jersey. Sensitive individuals, including the very young, the elderly, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous activities during the afternoon and early evening hours. Sunny skies will return accompanied by southwesterly winds and temperatures rising into the low 90s. A full day of sunshine and winds from the southwest will allow ozone to rise into the USG category. In addition, levels of fine particle concentrations will also remain in the moderate category for urban locations as relative humidity will remain elevated.
