587 New COVID-19 Cases Identified in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 587 new positive cases of COVID-19 which occurred between Saturday, December 11 and Monday, December 13, bringing the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases in Camden County to 65,301 and 1,379 total fatalities. 

Of the 587 new cases, 139 are among patients under 18 years old. The average age of the newly infected is 34 years old.

“With cases on the rise, we want to reemphasize how important it is to get vaccinated and get a booster shot,” said Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “All adults have been eligible for boosters for about a month and last week, Pfizer boosters were authorized for children ages 16 and 17. So please, if you haven’t already, go get your booster. You can make an appointment for your first or second dose or your booster shot at the Camden County Health Hub by visitingwww.CamdenCountyVaccine.com.”

To date, 372,423 Camden County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 327,500 are fully vaccinated and 101,094 have received a third dose. More information regarding vaccination rates throughout the county and available on the state’s COVID-19 dashboard at covid19.nj.gov.

The county Health Department is continuing to closely track new cases of COVID-19 and information regarding the prevalence of the Delta variant. New cases are often reassigned to other municipalities over the course of an investigation.
