(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 170 new positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases in Camden County to 55,965 and 1,273 total fatalities.
Of today’s 170 new cases, 62 are among patients under 18 years old. The average age of the newly infected is 31 years old.

“We could prevent the vast majority of these infections if everyone got vaccinated,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “The vaccines are safe, and an overwhelming amount of evidence shows us that they are effective in reducing the likelihood of getting COVID-19, being hospitalized from it, and ultimately facing severe illness. If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, do not wait any longer.”
To date, 334,595 Camden County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 302,011 are fully vaccinated. More information regarding vaccination rates throughout the county and available on the state’s COVID-19 dashboard at covid19.nj.gov.
The county Health Department is continuing to closely track new cases of COVID-19 and information regarding the prevalence of the Delta variant. New cases are often reassigned to other municipalities over the course of an investigation.
