With
the April 1, 2008 approval of the Camden County Improvement Authority
(CCIA) Major Site Plan application by the Pennsauken Planning Board,
the CCIA today issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to develop a
four acre site on the former Pennsauken Mart site in the township.
The
RFP marks another step forward for the Renaissance Walk Redevelopment
Project. This 36 multi-family residential building development comprised
of 612 residential dwelling units, will include a community center,
recreation area, public space and a storm water management area.
The project will create a vibrant new community in Pennsauken Township.
The four-acre site that is the subject of the RFP will be divided
into two parcels for commercial development.
“Access
to shopping and other amenities are important quality of life components
of any residential redevelopment project,” said Camden County
Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “This phase of the
project will also add new commercial property ratables for the Township
and job opportunities for county residents.”
Firms
interested in submitting a proposal for this project are encouraged
to attend a pre-bid meeting at the Cherry Hill Campus of Camden
County College at 2:00 p.m. on April 21, 2008. Proposals must be
submitted to and received by the CCIA by 2:00 p.m. on May 6, 2008.
