Camden County to Honor African American Living Legends

WHAT:
MARION LILLEY BISHOP, 85, is among 12 African American Elders to
be honored on March 8 by the freeholders and the Camden County Cultural
and Heritage Commission as Living Legends for distinguished leadership
in our community. Ms. Bishop was selected because she was the first
African American nursing student to attend the Helene Fuld Nursing
School of Virtua Hospital, and then became the first African American
nursing director at the Camden County Psychiatric Hospital in Gloucester
Township.
