Grand opening of the Gloucester Township Affordable Senior Housing Campus. The Camden County Office of Community Development provided $500,000 in HOME funds to the project. Other funding came from federal and state sources, including the New Jersey Housing & Mortgage Finance Agency and the Low Income Tax Credit Program.
The 75 unit Rental Facility for low to moderate income senior citizens, was built in a certified Smart Growth area, and is an integral part of Camden County’s Lakeland Redevelopment Plan. Solar panels were incorporated into the design facility to promote its long term affordability by producing approximately 75% of the electricity needed for the common areas. Rents are very affordable at $611 for a 1 bedroom and $728 for 2 bedrooms. Applicants must be at least 62 years of age and have Max income of $27,450 for 1 person and $31,350 for household of two.
