Care Retirement Communities
Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs), provide a continuum
of care for their residents, who usually join the community as self-sufficient
individuals in relatively good health. If these residents eventually
develop health care needs, there is a licensed long-term care unit
(assisted living or nursing home) available within the community.
CCRCs usually require a significant financial investment in exchange
for lifetime housing, food, recreation, health care and support services.
