MEDIA INFORMATION
June 15, 2006
Acting Camden County Prosecutor James P. Lynch and Cherry Hill Police
Chief Charlie Jones reported today that additional charges, including
first-degree Kidnapping, have been filed against a man already jailed
for allegedly exposing himself to young girls in Cherry Hill, N.J.
Latchezar
T. Guenovski, 54, of Lloyd Avenue in Cherry Hill, remains incarcerated
at the Camden County Correctional Facility in Camden. His bail was
raised from $75,000 to $175,000 yesterday following the filing of
new charges.
In
the Kidnapping charge, authorities allege that Guenovski grabbed
the arm of a 4-year-old girl who was visiting the home where he
lives, pulled her into his room, locked the door and exposed himself
in front of her. Kidnapping carries a penalty of up to 20 years
or more in State Prison upon conviction. In that incident, the defendant
is also charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a third-degree
offense carrying up to five years in prison upon conviction, and
Lewdness, a fourth-degree offense carrying up to 18 months in prison
upon conviction.
The
investigation into that alleged incident, which took place sometime
between last fall and this spring, began when the victim’s
family contacted investigators after seeing media accounts of Guenovski’s
arrest on May 26. In that case, the defendant was charged with three
counts of Sexual Assault and three counts of Endangering the Welfare
of a Child for allegedly exposing and manipulating his genitals
that afternoon in view of three female victims, ages 8, 10 and 12.
The alleged offenses took place at the Cherry Hill National Little
League fields on Cooper Landing Road in Cherry Hill, where numerous
girls and parents had gathered for softball games.
Also
filed yesterday was an additional fourth-degree Lewdness count and
an additional third-degree count of Endangering the Welfare of a
Child, both relating to a fourth alleged victim, an 8-year-old girl,
who viewed Guenovski’s actions on May 26 at the ballfields.
All
persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless
and until proven guilty in a court of law.
