CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
JAMES P. LYNCH, ACTING CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR
MEDIA INFORMATION

June 12, 2006

Acting Camden County Prosecutor James P. Lynch and Camden Police Executive Robert L. Stewart reported that a small safe was discovered stolen today from the Camden County Treasurer’s Office, located on the ninth floor of Camden City Hall in Camden, N.J.

Employees returning to work this morning after the weekend discovered the safe was missing from the treasurer’s office, which had been locked. The safe measures approximately three in feet in height, three fee wide and three feet deep. Among the items inside were approximately $50 in cash and a number of checks made payable to the county or the treasurer. Authorities are contacting area banks to alert them to be on the lookout for anyone trying to cash or deposit such checks.

No arrests have been made. An investigation is continuing by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Camden Police.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Prosecutor’s Office at (856) 225-8400 or Camden Police Detectives at (856) 757-7420.
