CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
JAMES P. LYNCH, ACTING CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR
MEDIA INFORMATION
June 7, 2006
Acting Camden County Prosecutor James P. Lynch and Camden Police
Executive Robert L. Stewart today prevailed upon anyone who was
at or around the scene of a fatal shooting early on Sunday morning,
June 4, at Mount Ephraim Avenue and Thurman Street in Camden, N.J.,
to contact authorities.
“Our
investigation to date indicates there were at least three dozen
people, and possibly many more, in the area at the time of the shooting,”
Lynch stated. “So far, we have identified and spoken with
only a handful, and information as to who else was out there has
been hard to come by.
“While
some witnesses, including surviving victims, have been completely
forthcoming and cooperative, others, quite frankly, have not been.
Law enforcement is asking once again for anyone who was in the area
at the time to contact the Prosecutor’s Office or Camden Police.”
Anyone
who was in the area at the time should contact Investigator Fawn
Ackerman of the Prosecutor’s Office at (856) 225-8400 or Camden
Police Detective Eric White at (856) 968-4771.
Rashell
Harmon, F/18, of Camden, was killed by gunfire at approximately
3:40 a.m. Sunday at Mount Ephraim and Thurman. Five other people
were wounded. No arrests have been made.
“We
know there are people who have information that could be helpful
to the investigation into this senseless crime,” Lynch said.
“Even those people who were there but think they have no relevant
information could be important in ways they don’t realize.
We urge them to contact us as soon as possible.”
