Acting Camden County Prosecutor James P. Lynch and Camden Police
Executive Robert L. Stewart reported that a city man who was shot
on Saturday night, June 3, at 24th and Federal streets died last
night at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, N.J.
Miguel
Soto, 22, suffered a single gunshot wound to the upper body at approximately
11:30 p.m. on Saturday. He was transported to Cooper, where he was
pronounced dead at 9:22 p.m. last night.
Investigation
indicates:
Soto
was among a group of people attending a party at a Mexican restaurant
at 24th and Federal. He and other men from the party got into a
dispute outside the establishment with another group of men socializing
in the area. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation.
It is believed that at least one man left the area and returned
with a handgun. A short time later, a shot was fired, striking Soto.
No
arrests have been made. An investigation is continuing by the Camden
County Prosecutor’s Office and Camden Police.
