Acting Camden County Prosecutor James P. Lynch, Camden Police Executive
Robert L. Stewart and James Plousis, U.S. Marshal for the District
of New Jersey, reported today that a 23-year-old man was arrested
on Friday, May 12, on a warrant charging him with Murder in a fatal
shooting May 5 in Camden, N.J.
Members
of the U.S. Marshal’s New York/New Jersey Fugitive Task arrested
Michael Sanchez, a.k.a. Roberto Lebron, at approximately 4:45 p.m.
Friday at a residence in Northeast Philadelphia where
investigators tracked him. Sanchez was being held in Philadelphia
pending extradition to Camden County. No court appearances are scheduled
at this time.
The
victim, Donshea Horsey, 22,of Philadelphia, was shot multiple times
from behind at approximately 11:38
a.m. on May 5. Camden Police responding to a report of a man shot
arrived at the corner of Louis and Chase streets to find the victim
lying near the intersection. Horsey was transported to Cooper
University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:38 p.m.
Investigation
indicates Horsey got into a fistfight with another man. It is alleged
that, while the two
were fighting, the defendant approached on foot, fired a handgun
at Horsey and fled on foot.
All
persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless
and until proven guilty in a
court of law.
