CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
JAMES P. LYNCH, ACTING CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR
MEDIA INFORMATION

April 27, 2006

Acting Camden County Prosecutor James P. Lynch reported that a Grand Jury has indicted four men in connection with separate homicides last year in Camden County.

No court dates have been scheduled at this time. Initial post-indictment appearances will be scheduled in the coming weeks.

Indicted on Wednesday, April 26, were:

• Cliffton Cox, 25, of Camden. Cox was indicted on charges of Murder and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the death of his 1½-month-old daughter, Ciarra Cox, on Nov. 8, 2005. Cox is accused of striking his daughter multiple times with his hand. Ciarra suffered a fractured skull.

• Robert Arcari, 54, of Collingswood. Arcari was indicted on a charge of Aggravated Manslaughter in the death of motorcyclist John Burkell, 30, of Collegeville, Pa. It is alleged that Arcari was intoxicated when he drove his 2000 Acura the wrong way over the Benjamin Franklin Bridge on July 31, 2005. Burkell was driving his motorcycle westbound over the bridge at approximately 12:11 a.m. when Arcari’s vehicle struck him head on. Burkell died of multiple injuries.

• Dawayne Lindsey, 23, of Camden. Lindsey was indicted for Murder and weapons offenses, accused of fatally shooting Ronald Akins, 38, of West Deptford, on May 2, 2005, at 8th Street and Morgan Boulevard in Camden. It is alleged that Lindsey shot Akins, who was selling footwear from a van parked by a shopping plaza, because of an earlier confrontation.

• David Henry, 43, of Gloucester City. Henry was indicted on a Murder charge, accused of killing his wife, Jacqueline, on March 29, 2005, in their home on Thompson Avenue in Gloucester City. An autopsy determined that the victim was strangled with a ligature. There were no signs of forced entry.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
