Acting Camden County Prosecutor James P. Lynch and Camden Police
Executive Robert L. Stewart announced today that a Camden man has
been charged with Murder in the shooting death of a nightclub bouncer
earlier this month in Camden, N.J.
Lynch
and Stewart asked for the public’s assistance in locating
Darnell M. Cloud, a.k.a. Darnell McCloud, 26, accused of fatally
shooting Curtis Jackson, 32, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on April
15, 2006, outside the Café II nightclub on Ferry Avenue.
Cloud
is described as an African-American male, approximately 5-foot-9
and 180 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. Please see

It
is alleged that the defendant was one of a number of nightclub patrons
who assaulted the victim as Jackson tried to break up a fight inside
the club. It is further alleged that, during a confrontation with
the victim a short time later in the parking lot, Cloud pulled a
handgun and fired multiple times in Jackson’s direction. Cloud
then allegedly entered a parked vehicle and sped away.
Jackson
was one of several men working security at the club. He was struck
in the head by a bullet and collapsed in the parking lot.
