CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
JAMES P. LYNCH, ACTING CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR
MEDIA INFORMATION

April 26, 2006

Acting Camden County Prosecutor James P. Lynch announced today that two investigators from his office, James Coward and Michael Molle, were honored during the past week for outstanding contributions to public safety.

On April 19, Investigator James Coward received the U.S. Marshal’s Service 2005 Director’s Distinguished Group Award, the service’s highest award, at a ceremony in Alexandria, Va. The award recognizes Coward’s “exemplary performance and dedicated service” as a member of the Marshal’s Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force. The task force has arrested nearly 500 violent fugitives with ties to the City of Camden during 2005 and 2006, and is credited with helping reduce violent crime in the city.

In addition, Coward, a CCPO investigator for more than seven years, received a Marshal’s Service Special Commendation for his “dedicated and distinguished effort” as a surveillance instructor for task force members.

On April 24, Investigator Michael Molle received the Shield Award from the Santa Maria Council of the Knights of Columbus at a ceremony at the organization’s hall in Haddon Township, recognizing Molle as the Council’s Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. During more than 10 years with the Prosecutor’s Office, Molle has served with distinction in several units, including Child Abuse, Career Criminal and Trial Team. The award recognizes his work on behalf of crime victims, his overall professionalism and his exemplary personal qualities.

In 2004, Molle played a key role in a Child Abuse prosecution that resulted in a guilty verdict and lengthy prison sentence for the defendant. The rapport of trust Molle developed with the child victim was crucial to the victim’s successful testimony and ongoing recovery.

“On behalf of everyone at the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, I am extremely proud of Investigators Coward and Molle for the recognition they have so deservedly received. We are grateful, as well, for their outstanding efforts to make our community safer,” Acting Prosecutor Lynch said. “Both of these gentlemen embody the dedication, integrity and sense of duty that bring honor to the Prosecutor’s Office and all of law enforcement.”
