Acting Camden County Prosecutor James P. Lynch and Camden Police
Executive Robert L. Stewart reported today that a Mount Holly resident
was shot to death during the early morning hours of Saturday, April
15, 2006, outside a Camden, N.J., nightclub where he was working
as a bouncer.
Curtis
Jackson, 32, suffered a single gunshot wound to the head and was
dead at the scene, the parking lot outside the Café II on
Ferry Avenue at White Horse Pike.
Investigation
indicates the following:
Jackson
was one of several men working security at the club. At approximately
2:30 a.m., a fight broke out involving numerous patrons inside the
club. Jackson and his colleagues intervened and struggled with several
patrons, who quickly left or were removed. Jackson followed the
crowd out the front door into the parking lot. Shots rang out and
Jackson was struck in the head. He collapsed in the parking lot.
