Acting Camden County Prosecutor James P. Lynch reported today that
a jury has convicted a 24 year old Clementon man of Robbery stemming
from an incident in Gloucester Township in 2005. Jake Brady, of
the 100 block of Erial Road, was charged along with another man
in a botched robbery that occurred on February 27, 2005. Brady,
along with Raheem Pearsall, 24 of Gloucester Township, planned to
rob a 17 year old juvenile during a narcotics transaction. In an
attempt to thwart the robbery, the juvenile shot both Brady and
Pearsall, severely injuring both men. All three were arrested as
a result of their actions. The robbery case was prosecuted by Assistant
Prosecutor Christopher St. John.
The
juvenile pleaded guilty to Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and
is serving a 15 month sentence at a juvenile correctional facility.
Raheem Pearsall pleaded guilty and testified against Brady during
the one week trial. Brady, in jail since March 15, 2005, is facing
a possible 10 year sentence after the conviction today.
