Acting Camden County Prosecutor James P. Lynch reported today that
a Grand Jury has indicted Alicia Willis Robinson F/33 and her husband
Lawrence Robinson M/36 on Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Hindering
Apprehension or Prosecution by disposing of the body, Conspiracy
to Hinder Apprehension or Prosecution and Endangering the Welfare
of a Child. The indictment, issued on Wednesday, April 12, 2006,
alleges that the Robinsons beat and killed their four year old son,
Jerell, and disposed of the body in a bag and dumped it in a vacant
lot at 311 N. Lawrence Street, Philadelphia PA.
On
May 28, 1994, it was ruled by the Medical Examiner that cause of
death of the young child found was murder.
After
the Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit conducted
several interviews, it was determined that the crime was committed
in Camden, N.J. The case was then turned over to the Camden County
Prosecutors Office and Camden City Police Homicide Units. After
further investigation the Robinsons were charged with Murder.
Murder
is a first degree charge which carries a maximum penalty of life
imprisonment with a 30 year parole disqualifier. An additional post-indictment
court appearance will be scheduled in the next couple of weeks.
All
persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless
and until proven guilty in a court of Law.
