Acting Camden County Prosecutor James P. Lynch reported today that
a Grand Jury has indicted Taleaf J. Gunther M/20, on Attempted Murder
and other Gun related charges. The indictment, issued on Wednesday,
April 12, 2006, alleges that Gunther shot a two year old girl while
she was in a car with her mother while in Camden N.J.
It
is alleged that at approximately 9:30 p.m. on October 28, 2004,
the victim was traveling in a Ford Escape with her Mother. Just
after turning onto South 8th Street, a bullet pierced the left passenger’s
side door and struck the victim in the back of the neck.
Gunther
was charged with Attempted Murder on March 24, 2005 and arrested
on March 26, 2005 at 1737 Filmore Street, Camden, N.J.
Attempted
Murder is a first degree crime which carries maximum penalty of
20 years with 85% having to be served without Parole in New Jersey
State Prison. An additional post-indictment court appearance will
be scheduled in the next couple of weeks.
All
persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless
and until proven guilty in a court of Law.
