Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Camden Police Executive
Robert L. Stewart reported today that a city man was shot to death
last night, Tuesday, March 7, in Camden, N.J
Camden
Police responded to a 7:16 p.m. call reporting shots fired near
the intersection of Westfield and Rosedale avenues in the city’s
East Camden section. Officers arrived to find the victim lying in
a parking lot near the intersection. The victim was later identified
as Mario Garcia, 29, of Camden. He had suffered at least one gunshot
wound and was dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for later
today.
No
arrests have been made and the motive for the shooting is unclear.
An investigation by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office
and Camden Police is continuing.
