MEDIA   INFORMATION

January 12, 2006

Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Camden Police Chief Edwin J. Figueroa reported that a man was found shot to death today in a car in Camden, N.J.

A Camden County Sheriff's Officer driving in the 1900 block of South 4th Street in South Camden at 11:30 a.m. today noticed a man slumped in the driver's seat of a parked red Lexus. The officer investigated and found an individual later identified as David Rivera Gonzalez, 31, of Delran. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body and was dead at the scene.

Detectives believe Rivera was shot while inside the car sometime early today.

No arrests have been made. The motive for the shooting is unclear, although investigators believe it may be drug-related. The investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call the Camden County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit at (856) 225-8400 or Camden Police Detectives at (856) 757-7420.
