VINCENT P. SARUBBI, CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR
MEDIA   INFORMATION

July 20, 2005

Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Camden Police Chief Edwin J. Figueroa reported today that a 38-year-old man was shot to death late Tuesday night, July 20, 2005, in Camden, N.J.

Harold E. Fussell, a city resident, was shot while on the sidewalk in the first block of North 24th Street, near Federal Street, at approximately 11:10 p.m. Tuesday. Camden Police responding to a report of an individual shot arrived to find the victim lying on the sidewalk. He was dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Fussell was walking with at least one other individual when someone fired at him at close range and fled on foot. The motive for the shooting is unclear. Detectives are investigating whether it was drug-related. No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is urged to call Senior Investigator Diane Wilson of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office at (856) 225-8400 or Camden Police Detective Orlando Perez at (856) 757-7420.
