CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
VINCENT P. SARUBBI, CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR
MEDIA   INFORMATION

July 7, 2005

Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi, Cherry Hill Police Chief Brian Malloy, Pennsauken Police Chief John Coffey, Gloucester Township Police Chief John Stollsteimer and Voorhees Police Chief Keith Hummel reported today that Christian Sparacio, 38, formerly of Bellmawr and Cherry Hill and most recently of Voorhees, was arrested on Wednesday, July 6, 2005, on Theft charges, accused of defrauding four homeowners who paid him a total of approximately $25,000 for concrete work he allegedly never intended to perform. The alleged victims live in Cherry Hill, Gloucester Township, Pennsauken and Voorhees.

Sparacio posted bail (10 percent of $50,000 plus $20,000 cash or bond) and was released this morning from the Camden County Correctional Facility.

He had previously been charged and arrested in January and February, accused of multiple counts of Theft for allegedly bilking 49 victims of nearly $500,000 for concrete work he never intended to perform. Those victims live in Camden, Burlington and Gloucester counties. He was free after posting 10 percent of $75,000 bail in March.

Sparacio, a former Camden City police officer, was also charged in January with Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer, accused of representing himself as a police officer to alleged victims to dissuade them from notifying authorities of their complaints.

Officers from the Camden County Prosecutor's Office and the Voorhees Police Department arrested Sparacio at a relative's home in Voorhees at approximately noon on Wednesday on the new charges.

A motion to increase Sparacio's bail on the older charges is scheduled to be heard on Friday, July 8, 2005, before Superior Court Judge Samuel D. Natal at approximately 9 a.m. in Courtroom 56 of the Camden County Hall of Justice, 5th Street & Mickle Boulevard, Camden, N.J.

Sparacio faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. He formerly traded as C. Sparacio Inc. and most recently as Ultimate Concrete Inc.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
