Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Camden Police Chief
Edwin J. Figueroa reported that a $1,000 reward has been posted
for information leading to the arrest of a 19-year-old Camden man
was charged Murder.
Authorities are seeking the public's help in locating Theends L.
Brown, a.k.a. "Mookie," accused of fatally shooting Charles Raikes,
M/23, early Saturday morning, June 11, 2005, in Camden, N.J. Brown,
formerly of the 1500 block of Wildwood Avenue in Camden, is described
as a black male, approximately 5-foot-9 and 140 pounds with black
hair and brown eyes. See photo below.
At 3:22 a.m. Saturday, Camden Police responded to a call reporting
a man shot in Farnham Park off the 1500 block of Park Boulevard.
Arriving officers found the victim, of Pennsauken, suffering from
a single gunshot wound to the upper body. He was transported to
Cooper University Hospital, where he died a short time later.
Investigation indicates that the victim and the defendant had an
ongoing dispute over money. It is alleged that after the two engaged
in a fistfight, Brown pulled a handgun and shot Raikes once in the
abdomen.
