Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Camden Police Chief Edwin J. Figueroa reported today that a man was shot and killed last night in the East Camden section of Camden, N.J.

At approximately 9:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2005, Camden Police responded to a call for a man shot in the area of Rosedale and Westfield avenues. Upon arrival, officers found Salvador A. Martinez, M/20, lying on Rosedale, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper body. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to Cooper University Medical Center, where he died a short time later.

No arrests have been made. The motive for the shooting is not known. The investigation continues.
