CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
VINCENT P. SARUBBI, CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR
MEDIA INFORMATION
April 25, 2005
Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Pennsauken Police
Chief John Coffey announced today that the reward for information
leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who
may be responsible for the death of Sherita Williams, F/16, has been
increased to $5,000.
Sherita Williams' body was found on Nov. 29, 2003, in Pennsauken,
N.J., under a bridge where 36th Street passes over railroad tracks
near Hayes Avenue. There was no significant trauma and toxicology
tests yielded no abnormal results. Although the Camden County Medical
Examiner's Office has not ruled on a cause or manner of death, the
case has been treated from the outset as a homicide. The Camden County
Prosecutor's Office and the Pennsauken Police Department continue
to investigate the death as a homicide.
The original reward of $1,000 has been increased by $4,000 supplied
by the Pennsauken Police Department from drug forfeiture funds.
"We are hopeful that the increased reward will bring forward someone
who has information about this young woman's tragic death," Coffey
said. "Detectives from the Pennsauken Police Department and the Prosecutor's
Office have spent many hours investigating this case, and continue
to work actively on it. We are optimistic that their continuing hard
work will pay off in the break we need to unravel the circumstances
of this tragedy."
Anyone with information about the case is urged to call Senior Investigator
Martin Wolf of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office at (856) 225-8400
or Pennsauken Police Detective Bill Wheeler at (856) 488-0080.
