Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Camden Police Chief Edwin J. Figueroa reported that a woman was killed and a man was critically wounded in a shooting early today in Camden, N.J.

Camden Police responded to a 2:34 a.m. report of shots fired and arrived at the Ablett Village public housing complex to find the two victims lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to Cooper University Hospital. Janice Richardson, F/45, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Bryant Williams, M/37, underwent surgery and remains in critical condition at Cooper. .

Preliminary investigation indicates that both victims lived in separate units at the Ablett Village complex. It is unclear whether one, both or neither of the victims was the intended target.

No arrests have been made. An investigation is continuing.
