CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
VINCENT P. SARUBBI, CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR
MEDIA INFORMATION
March 8, 2005
Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Camden Police Chief
Edwin J. Figueroa reported that Kenneth D. Pearson, M/28, was shot
and killed early this morning in his home in the 1200 block of Sheridan
Street in Camden.
Investigators believe the shooting may have been drug-related. A quantity
of marijuana was seized from the home.
Police responded to the home at approximately 12:53 a.m. and found
the victim, who was unresponsive and had suffered an obvious gunshot
wound to the head. Pearson was dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation indicates that after a knock on the front
door, an armed man with his face concealed and wearing dark clothing
forced his way inside and began to argue with the victim. The gunman
took Pearson to a first-floor room, where they continued to argue,
and then fired a handgun and killed Pearson before fleeing.
Anyone with information on the case is urged to call Investigator
Matt Woshnak of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office and at (856)
225-8400 or Camden Police Detective Wayne Matthews at (856) 757-7420.
Information will be kept confidential.
