CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
VINCENT P. SARUBBI, CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR
MEDIA   INFORMATION

January 26, 2005

U.S. Marshal for New Jersey James Plousis, Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi, New Jersey State Police Superintendent Col. Rick Fuentes and Camden Police Chief Edwin J. Figueroa reported today that the U.S. Marshal's New Jersey/New York Regional Task Force on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, arrested a fugitive who had been on the Top 50 Camden Fugitives list.

Michael H. Moore, 46, was wanted on a 1998 warrant charging him with Aggravated Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The assaults on the 7-year-old female victim allegedly occurred in Camden between 1991 and 1996.

Task force detectives from the Marshal's Service, Prosecutor's Office, State Police and City Police, as well as the N.J. Department of Corrections, under the direction of Commissioner Devon Brown, developed information that Moore was working in Pennsylvania and tracked him to an equipment rental business in Cheltenham, Pa. Task force officers and Cheltenham Police arrested Moore on Tuesday afternoon at the business. Investigation indicates Moore had been living with a relative in Philadelphia. His last known address prior to that was in the Bromley Estates apartments in Lindenwold, N.J. He is being held at the Montgomery County (Pa.) Jail awaiting transfer to Camden County.

"We have identified and compiled a list of the most dangerous and violent fugitives, and we have begun to track them down and apprehend them," Prosecutor Sarubbi said. "The process of following leads and locating a fugitive is very labor-intensive. All of us concerned with public safety in Camden I appreciate the resources U.S. Marshal Plousis is providing for this effort. I believe it will make a difference on the street with a direct impact on residents' quality of life."

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
