Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Acting Camden Police
Chief Edwin J. Figueroa reported today that Kazeem O'Bryant, M/25,
was shot and killed early today in the 500 block of Spruce Street
in Camden, N.J.
O'Bryant, of the 1800 block of South 8th Street in Camden, had just
exited the Off Broadway Lounge at and was standing in front of the
tavern at approximately 2:45 a.m. when an individual approached
the victim on foot and fired, investigation indicates. O'Bryant
was hit at least once in the head. The shooter then fled on foot.
The victim was dead at the scene.
A second individual was also seen running from the scene in the
direction taken by the assailant shortly after the shooting. No
further descriptions are available.
A Ford Bronco parked outside the bar was hit by stray gunfire. A
stray bullet also shattered the tavern's glass front door. It is
unclear if any or all of those shots were fired by the same suspect.
