April 15, 2004

Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Bellmawr Police Chief William Walsh reported today that William J. Jones, M/29, of Bellmawr, N.J., is charged with two counts of Sexual Assault, accused of sexual offenses against a 15-year-old female victim.

Jones, of the first block of Cherry Place, is being held in the Camden County Correctional facility in lieu of $30,000 bail, cash or bond. The defendant is an employee in the Bellmawr Department of Highways and also serves as a volunteer firefighter in town.

The offenses, including intercourse and digital penetration, allegedly occurred in March of this year. Each of the two second-degree charges carry a maximum 10 years imprisonment upon conviction.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
