MEDIA   INFORMATION

March 16, 2004

Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Acting Camden Police Chief Edwin J. Figueroa announced that a third man was charged tonight with Felony Murder in the fatal shooting of a Chinese restaurant proprietor on March 11, 2004, in Camden, N.J.

Tori Cobbs, M/19, of the 100 block of South 27th Street in Camden, is being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility pending an arraignment expected to be scheduled for Wednesday, March 17.

Cobbs was arrested at his home this afternoon. He is the latest defendant charged in the slaying of Bao Xing Lin, M/53, who was shot at the Happy Dragon Restaurant on South 28th Street at approximately 12:17 p.m. on March 11. The victim, who owned and operated the eatery, died at 6:01 p.m. that night at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

Earlier today, two other defendants - Brandon B. Smith, a.k.a. Bryant Smith, M/19, of the 100 block of North 35th Street in Camden, and Omar D. McClarin, M/25, of the 1300 block of Jackson Street in Camden - were arraigned in front of Superior Court Judge Samuel D. Natal, who set bail at $400,000 for each. They remained jailed in lieu of bail.

The investigation continues, and more arrests are possible, Sarubbi and Figueroa said.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
