Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Acting Camden Police
Chief Edwin J. Figueroa announced that a third man was charged tonight
with Felony Murder in the fatal shooting of a Chinese restaurant
proprietor on March 11, 2004, in Camden, N.J.
Tori Cobbs, M/19, of the 100 block of South 27th Street in Camden,
is being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility pending
an arraignment expected to be scheduled for Wednesday, March 17.
Cobbs was arrested at his home this afternoon. He is the latest
defendant charged in the slaying of Bao Xing Lin, M/53, who was
shot at the Happy Dragon Restaurant on South 28th Street at approximately
12:17 p.m. on March 11. The victim, who owned and operated the eatery,
died at 6:01 p.m. that night at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
Earlier today, two other defendants - Brandon B. Smith, a.k.a. Bryant
Smith, M/19, of the 100 block of North 35th Street in Camden, and
Omar D. McClarin, M/25, of the 1300 block of Jackson Street in Camden
- were arraigned in front of Superior Court Judge Samuel D. Natal,
who set bail at $400,000 for each. They remained jailed in lieu
of bail.
The investigation continues, and more arrests are possible, Sarubbi
and Figueroa said.
All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent
unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
