Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Acting Camden Police Chief Edwin Figueroa reported today that Anthony J. Harris, M/29, was shot Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 10, 2004, while standing in the 1900 block of Pierce Street in Camden, N.J., and died Tuesday night at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

Camden Police responded to 9-1-1 calls reporting the shooting at approximately 2:26 p.m. Feb. 10 and found the victim lying in the street bleeding. Harris, of the Gramercy Park Apartments in the 2000 block of Hull Road in Camden, was pronounced dead at approximately 9:55 p.m. that night. He died from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The investigation indicates the victim and the shooter engaged in a verbal argument on Pierce Street, and the suspect then fired a handgun at the victim from close range.

No arrests have been made.
