January 9, 2004

Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Acting Camden Police Chief Edwin Figueroa reported that the body of a woman was found this morning in an apartment at the Tamarack Apartments on Ferry Avenue in Camden, N.J.

The victim, Diane Jackson, F/39, was found in a vacated unit at approximately 10:16 a.m. today by maintenance workers at the apartment complex. Jackson had just completed moving out of the apartment, where she had lived.

Assistant Camden County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood tonight ruled the cause of death as blunt trauma of the head and the manner of death as homicide. The victim's last contact with relatives was approximately 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is continuing.
