MEDIA   INFORMATION

April 21, 2003

Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Pennsauken Police Chief John Coffey announced today that Zachary L. Romanet, M/18, of the 100 block of Foxchase Drive in Delran, N.J., was killed Sunday night, April 20, 2003, in a single-car crash in Pennsauken, N.J.

The crash occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. on the ramp leading from Route 90 East onto Route 130 North. Another occupant, Michael G. Zanger, M/20, of the 100 block of Cooperskill Road in Delran, was treated at Cooper Medical Center in Camden and was released.

The investigation indicates the vehicle, a black 1999 Ford Taurus owned by Zanger, crossed the Betsy Ross Bridge from Philadelphia, hit a curb on the ramp, went out of control, left the roadway and overturned. Romanet died as a result of multiple injuries. The investigation continues into who was driving at the time of the crash and whether alcohol was involved.

No charges have been filed.
