Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi announced today that a former Camden Diocese priest has waived extradition and agreed to return to New Jersey from Florida to face aggravated sexual assault charges.

James F. Hopkins (DOB 3-10-43) was arrested in Stuart, Florida (Martin County) on Monday. The charges date back to 1995 and involve a Pennsauken boy who was 10 years old at the time of the alleged incidents.

Hopkins appeared before a Florida judge late yesterday. The waiver order was signed by the judge earlier today.

It is not known when Hopkins will arrive in Camden County.

All person charged with offenses are innocent until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
