Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi announced that Jesus Lopez, age 39, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was sentenced today in Camden County Superior Court to 15 years, 5 years without parole eligibility, on 1st degree drug distribution charges. Lopez was arrested on April 23, 2002 in the 500 block of Mickle Blvd. when Camden Police Officers found him in a disabled vehicle. At that time, Lopez was found to be in possession of a handgun. Additionally, the officers discovered 4 kilograms (8.8 pounds) of cocaine inside his vehicle. The cocaine has a street value of approximately $400,000.

Judge Frank Lario also sentenced Lopez to a concurrent term of 5 years, 2 without parole, on the weapons offense. Lopez also forfeited the vehicle in which the drugs were located, a 1996 Volkswagen Golf.
