Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi announced that a Camden
County Grand Jury today indicted four people in connection with
two unrelated child abuse cases.
In one case, David Yates, M/50, and Marie Celine Healey, F/48, both
of the 800 block of Myrtle Avenue in Lindenwold, were indicted for
Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly
Weapon and Aggravated Assault. They allegedly used a wooden cutting
board to assault the 15-year-old victim on Dec. 8, 2002. The victim
was allegedly struck with between 50 and 60 blows and suffered severe
bruising.
The defendants are free on bail. The victim was removed from the
household by the state Division of Youth and Family Services.
If convicted, the defendants each face up to 10 years in New Jersey
State Prison on the Endangering Charge and up to five years on each
Aggravated Assault charge.
In a second case, the Grand Jury indicted Rosanna Kulbickas, F/47,
a bus driver for the Pennsauken Board of Education, on charges of
Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Official Misconduct. Mildred
Busch, F/79, a bus aide, was indicted on a charge of Abuse and Neglect
of a Child.
The indictment charges that on Sept. 18, 2002, the two defendants
failed to perform a routine check of their school bus and left a
5-year-old disabled boy from Pennsauken inside the vehicle when
it was left in a bus lot. The child was unable to remove the seat
belt and remained in the bus alone for 90 minutes before a mechanic
discovered the boy.
If convicted, Kulbickas faces up to 10 years in prison on each of
the two charges. Busch faces up to 18 months. They are free on their
own recognizance.
All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent
unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
